It’s raining competitions for students this season!

From resume writing to being a part of the solar scientific expedition, the coming days promise to be fun for students. Plenty of competitions; and plenty of prizes to be won. So, what are you waiting for?

 

1. Heliodyssey 2019 (for space lovers)

SPACE India is organising one of India’s largest student scientific solar expeditions named, Heliodyssey 2019, in which budding and young astronomers of the country will be provided with an opportunity to become a part of the solar scientific expedition team who will scientifically observe and record the annular solar eclipse of 26 December 2019 from India and Sultanate of Oman. Students will get a chance to work with astronomers and scientists studying annular solar eclipse. The programme aims to nurture the curiosity of young minds and inspire them to choose science as a life career.

Students will have to take an online examination, SPACE Heliodyssey Test 2019 (SHOT-2019), in order to be a part of this expedition. Students of class 6 – 12 are eligible to apply for the test. The top 200 students will get a chance to observe the annular solar eclipse either from Oman and Cheruvathur, Kerala. Registration for the test has begun and will end on September 30, 2019. Students are required to pay an application fee of Rs 990 (non-refundable) for the purpose. For details and registration, click on the website: www.heliodyssey.org.

Scholarship for winners:

Top Rank 1-20:  100% Scholarship for a fully sponsored scientific expedition to the Sultanate of Oman

Top Rank 21-50: 100% scholarship for a fully sponsored scientific expedition to Eclipse site in India

Top Rank 51-100: 76mm telescope along with scholarship in training and education fees of the trip. (Students will have to pay for travel and lodging)

Top Rank 101-200: 50mm refractor telescope along with scholarship in training and education fees of the trip. (Students will have to pay for travel and lodging)

Participation certificates will be given to all the participants. Top 200 students will receive merit certificates.

 

2. One Page Resume Competition

Hurry! The last date for submission of one page resume is 25 August 2019. Organised by Bodhi International School, Jodhpur, this competition is meant for students above class 11 (Category 1 for class 11 and 12 students; Category 2 for graduates and post-graduates). The winners will be announced on 31 August 2019. Top three students from each category will receive attractive gift hampers along with a one-on-one counseling advice. 3. Poster Making Competition

 

The theme for this online competition is ‘Sustainable Careers.’ Students of class 9 and 10 are eligible for the contest. Top three entries will receive an attractive gift hamper along with a one-on-one counseling advice. Last date for poster submission is 25 August 2019. The winners will be announced on 31 August 2019.
