Internship in politics? Well, well, Assam just did it
In order to motivate students to take up politics as a career, Assam assembly is offering an internship programme for students. Under the programme, 20 students hailing from different parts of the state, will get an opportunity to research for one month under the Speaker’s Research Initiative. Students can research on selected topics related to the assembly in an academic manner, and will be provided access to the library and the archives.

Worried about the safety of your kids? Attend classes with them
This academic session, Sri Sri Academy in Kolkata has invited mothers to spend a day in the school campus and see how the school and teachers function. This has been done to build mutual trust between the school and the parents.
Every day, one parent takes charge. She reaches the school at the time of the morning assembly, attends classes with children, joins them in laboratories, corridors or cafeteria. The mother on duty is expected to check if children are engaged in classes and whether teachers are using other mediums besides textbooks to teach. They are also supposed to give feedbcak to help school improve in case of any deficiency.
At present, the visit is open for parents of students studying in lower nursery to Class V.

Music instrument from plastic bottles
Fifteen-year-old Sangeetha Ramanuj is a student of Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts (SAPA) who uses her music to reach out to people with social messages. This time, she has chosen to raise awareness about recycling by converting platic bottles into music instrument. For this, she collected around 70 bottles, painted them and filled them with pebbles. “These make a rhythmic sound, when shaken together, to a beat,” she said. The class X student has created this simple music instrument for underprivileged kids of Bengaluru’s government schools.
