She wanted to share her parenting experience with other mothers, and hence started a blog. But when the pandemic shut the world and forced schools to go online, she felt the need to devise innovative offline ways to teach her child. The idea was to give him the much-needed break from screen time. Little did she imagine that this idea would give birth to the entrepreneur in her. Meet Shraddha Fogla, founder of 2monkeysandme, a digital professional parenting platform, focussing on STEM education.
What is 2monkeysandme?
2monkeysandme is a one-stop digital platform for everything related to early childhood education that aims at educating parents, caregivers, and educators in formulating and using creative ways to teach a child, by way of involving STEM and STEM concepts, sensory plays, and other ways of hands-on learning. Anyone can use the ideas to teach kids differently and effectively.
From blogs to launching study modules, what was the inspiration behind the launch of ‘Homeschooling’ modules for kids?
My focus shifted more towards teaching kids on specific topics during the pandemic. Since we got more time at home and they were anyway subjected to long hours of online school, I did not want them to give more time to screen. I started teaching them offline in creative ways; and felt I should help other mothers also do the same. That’s how the idea of homeschooling modules came up.
Are these modules based on some board curriculum? Kindly elaborate about the way the modules are selected and designed?
Some of these modules go along with the course that is being followed in international schools, and some are more generic towards teaching children concepts that may be taught later in their school life. My idea is to teach kids not only things that they should know at their age but also beyond. A child might know something that a 40-year-old may not. So the modules are designed keeping that in mind, to give as much information as possible in a child-friendly way. It’s always good to learn more. I design these modules depending upon particular things I want to teach my child using my knowledge and the research that I do on each topic.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that all students of the world were homeschooled this year. Was that the reason you chose this name and time of the year to launch these modules?
Yes, absolutely! With the ongoing pandemic, came homeschooling all over the world and hence the name. Though homeschooling is not really homeschooling in our country in the manner it is done in the US but it’s more like a need of the hour.
How are you planning to market your products given the kind of competition we are witnessing in the education sector?
Over the years, I have built a strong network of parents and educators who follow me, and the products that are good and essential are also spread by word of mouth. There are a few more things we have in the pipeline with regard to our educational platform and once that is in place we will start with more efficient online and offline marketing.
You are also planning to start online consultations for parents. Can you tell us about that?
Yes, I am planning to start online consultations for parents. Once the idea materialises then I’d be able to talk about it more. The sole purpose of online consultations is to help parents understand the need and requirements of their children.

I believe you are also planning to run programmes for proper learning and education for children. Could you elaborate what will this include?
There are plenty of plans and ideas running in my mind for various programmes for proper learning and education of children. I am just trying to fixate my attention to something apt and appropriate for a kid’s education. It is quite difficult to pen down anything specific since it’s all in my mind.
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that 2monkeysandme is gradually developing into a one-stop shop catering to almost all needs of parents – be it parenting tips, consultations, subject based activities for students, etc.?
Yes, absolutely! Being a parent broadens your horizon and teaches you a lot of things and all these things are a part of parenting that we would love to expand on and elaborate more; and ultimately would like 2monkeysandme to cater to all the needs of parents.
