Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Celebrates its Foundation Day

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) celebrated its Foundation Day on Dec 15, 2024 with a grand event at the Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Auditorium, Delhi Cantt. The celebration highlighted KVS’s remarkable journey in providing quality education, with a focus on innovation and inclusion in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State for Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship was the chief guest of the event. In his address, he commended KVS for its significant contributions in shaping young minds and fostering national integration through a holistic approach to education.

Cultural and Educational Highlights

The event began with the screening of a short film that showcased KVS’s legacy and its evolution into a leading educational institution with 1,256 schools across India and abroad.

Students from Kendriya Vidyalayas presented a vibrant cultural performance, highlighting India’s rich diversity. A Nukkad Natak (street play) focused on KVS’s alignment with NEP 2020 captivated the audience, emphasising the importance of educational innovation and KVS’s role in successfully implementing NEP’s vision.

Key Launches and Releases

The celebration also marked two significant milestones:

  1. Revamped Websites for 900 Kendriya Vidyalayas

The minister launched 900 new websites, equipped with enhanced security features, to improve digital accessibility and facilitate seamless communication between students, parents and teachers.

  1. Book Release: “Purposive Pedagogical Practices”

A new book focusing on innovative teaching methodologies, with a particular emphasis on Children with Special Needs (CWSN), was unveiled, reflecting KVS’s commitment to inclusive education.
