Online petition against re-opening of schools

The lockdown ended today and Phase 1 of Unlock plan began throughout the country. The second phase (Unlock 2) will begin in July and educational institutions are likely to reopen then (final decision will be taken after consultations with states and UTs). Even though it’s still a month away, but parents are a worried lot. They do not want schools to open until coronavirus ends in the country. In order to ensure their voices are heard, Parents Association has started an online petition: Parents: No Schools until Zero Covid Case in the State or until Vaccines are out.

The petition says, “Opening of schools in July will be the worst decision by the Govt… The current academic session should continue in e-learning mode.” In just three days, the petition has garnered more than 3.5 lakh signatories.
