Perhaps, one of the most glamourised professions of the silver screen. But the profession involves tremendous hardwork, rigorous studies not only during college years but also throughout the working years.
A lawyer has various career options. Depending on your interest, you can specialise in any of the following:
- civil
- criminal
- corporate
- cyber
- labour
- taxation
- international laws
- intellectual property, etc.

- Logical reasoning
- Effective communication/persuasiveness
Job Prospects & Qualifications Required:
- Practice Law in Courts (you can begin as an intern or assist a senior advocate in a legal firm and then start independent practice; or work as a public prosecutor with government)
Qualifications: LLB - Corporate Management: Big corporate houses have a separate legal department to address legal issues (like taxation policies, patent rights, labour laws, etc.) for smooth functioning of the organisation.
Qualifications: LLB (specialisation in corporate laws, intellectual property laws, etc). - Academics: If you love teaching, there is no dearth of colleges now as many private institutions and universities are offering courses in law.
Qualifications: LLB followed by LLM with specialisation in any branch of law. A doctoral degree (PhD) is always preferable in this profession.
