Letter to the Delhi CM, Education Minister
Non-payment of their salaries have forced some teachers of Delhi schools to go on strike. But given the shortage of teachers in our schools, how wise is it to keep the issue lingering and deprive students of teachers? Hence, in the interest of students, we appeal to the govt to solve the problem asap.
The news of teachers of a number of schools being on strike due to non-payment of their salaries, for no fault of theirs, for some months, is conscience stunning and ill-conceived.
Myself, a teacher all my life, feel alarmed at mere thinking of teachers working without salaries in present hard times. Teachers are law abiding citizens of society, involved in complete non-political profession, and depriving them of salaries for no apparent causes, means depriving their family members of basic amenities of life and depriving their students of reasonably good teaching and guidance.
I earnestly request you, sir, to solve their problem, release salaries and help create good atmosphere for them to run schools well in the interest of good administration.
