Indirapuram Public School, Indirapuram, recently inaugurated its Special Educational Needs (SEN) department, marking a significant step towards inclusive education. Committed to fostering academic and personal growth, the SEN department strives to provide tailored educational support, empowering children with special needs to reach their full potential.
A panel discussion was also held on the day, where experts shared valuable insights on supporting children with special educational needs. The event centered around the theme, “A Holistic Approach to Child Development.” The panel included Dr Priyanka Bhabhu, India’s first BCBA-certified ABA specialist and founder of Kriya Foundation; Geetika Kapoor, psychologist and founder of Ed Essentials; and Dr Princee Shahi Bhaskar, head of the SEN department at American Excelsior School.
Shalini Singh, Chairperson of Tapindu Educational Society, was the distinguished guest.
The SEN center will offer a range of services, including individual counseling, personalised special education, occupational therapy, and group therapy. To support these initiatives, a dedicated school OPD will operate from Monday to Friday between 10 and 11.30 am, with plans to introduce an evening OPD soon.
